Our History

  • Black delegates recognized the need to increase the power and influence of Black
    Democrats within the Party.

  • Delegates agreed to unite Black Democrats across the state of Florida.

  • On September 24, 1983, the Florida Democratic Party officially recognized the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida.

  • The recognition marked a major milestone in strengthening Black political organization and representation within the Florida Democratic Party.
